Beginners Guide to Sourdough Making Workshop

Hosted by Kristen of bring.the.good.bread and Giancarlo, owner of Vince’s Market, explore the world of sourdough from the ground up. Start with the foundation of all sourdough – the sourdough starter.

Understand what a starter is, how to “feed” and maintain it, and leave with your own portion of active sourdough starter. Following that, delve into the art of crafting sourdough bread dough using the starter. Learn the essential steps and techniques to create a dough ready for shaping. Participants will experience hands-on instruction on shaping and preparing the dough for its cold fermentation. Leave with a dough that’s shaped and primed, ready to be refrigerated for baking the next day.

Receive detailed instructions on preparing, scoring, and baking your first sourdough at home. Baking instructions will cater to a cast iron Dutch oven, a crucial piece of equipment for effective sourdough making. Participants should also consider a digital kitchen scale as a must-have tool for precise measurements. Join us in this workshop to unlock the secrets of sourdough making and leave with not only knowledge but tangible goodies – an active starter, a shaped dough with bannaton, and a stylish Vince’s Denim Apron.

Participants will enjoy samples of pre-made fresh Sourdough along with charcuteries and wine tasting to enhance the evening.

Wine Tasting is for participants 19+ only.

The event is finished.
